The Journal App

The Journal App is a complete starting point for mobile journaling, diary, gratitude, reflection, notes, and productivity-based apps. It includes entry management, calendar filtering, text styling, background switching, emoji input, an optional lock panel, local JSON persistence, and optional AdMob-ready banner support.

Technical Details:

Created and tested with Unity 6000.0.58f2.

Recommended Unity version: Unity 6000.0.58f2 or newer Unity 6.0 LTS version.

Render pipeline: Built-in Render Pipeline.

Optional external setup:

Google Mobile Ads / AdMob SDK is not included. The package includes an optional AdMob-ready banner script using conditional compilation. Developers who want to enable AdMob must import the official Google Mobile Ads Unity Plugin separately, add the ADMOB scripting define symbol, and use their own AdMob App ID and banner ad unit IDs.

Data storage note:

The template uses local JSON persistence. The included JSON save system is not encrypted by default. The optional lock panel provides basic app-level access control and should not be presented as encrypted secure storage unless you add your own encryption layer.
