Create the interface your game deserves with the full creative power of the web. Ceffy brings a Chromium browser into Unity, so you can turn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript into interactive menus, HUDs, dashboards, in game screens, and world space panels.

Build your UI separately from your game using plain web technologies or a framework such as React, Vue, or Angular. Your web team can work with familiar tools and the mature JavaScript ecosystem while your Unity team focuses on gameplay. Use modern layouts, typography, animations, transitions, and interactive controls to create a look that is uniquely yours.

Key features

  • Web powered Unity UI: Display HTML interfaces on screen space or world space uGUI canvases.
  • Your framework, your workflow: Use plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, or bring a browser ready application built with React, Vue, Angular, or another web framework.
  • Live or bundled content: Display websites over HTTP or HTTPS, or ship your own pages with the game through StreamingAssets.
  • Two way communication: Send information from JavaScript to C#, update the page from Unity, execute JavaScript, and navigate at runtime.
  • Typed C# and JavaScript bridge: Define methods for both sides of the connection and use typed C# proxies to call into your UI.
  • Automatic TypeScript declarations: Generate declarations for your C# bridge interfaces and their referenced models, giving your web project useful type information.
  • Dedicated and shared browser modes: Give a complete UI its own browser, or display many small elements such as nameplates, labels, and tooltips through one shared browser texture.
  • Interactive input: Support mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, keyboard input, and HTML5 drag and drop.
  • Flexible sizing: Match the browser viewport to a RectTransform, use a fixed size, and control zoom on dedicated instances.
  • Native GPU texture sharing: Render browser content in Unity using the included native plugin, with Direct3D 11 and Direct3D 12 support.
  • Development tools: Inspect pages with Chrome DevTools remote debugging and receive browser console messages in Unity.

Ready to explore

Start with a working browser view. Add a CeffyInstance and a URL, or use the included full screen prefab to put a page in your scene. From there, import the samples that interest you and see how the Unity components, C# scripts, and web content fit together.

The eight samples are practical starting points you can inspect, modify, and build upon. Try an interaction in isolation, follow its implementation, then replace the demo content with your own interface. There is no need to solve the whole integration before you can start designing.

EditMode tests and a PlayMode native runtime smoke test are also included, giving you a way to check core behavior as you integrate Ceffy into your project.

Compatibility

Unity 6.0 or newer. Windows x64 with Direct3D 11 or Direct3D 12. Responsive web layouts can adapt to different panel sizes and resolutions.
