The Table of Showbread, or Table of the Presence, was built according to the pattern given to Moses over 3,000 years ago under the craftsmanship of Bezalel and Oholiab. Made of acacia wood and overlaid with pure gold, it stood within the Holy Place of the Tabernacle. Upon it rested twelve loaves of bread, arranged in two rows of six, representing the twelve tribes of Israel and continually set before the Lord. The table expressed fellowship and provision in God's presence and ultimately points to Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life.
