The Pirate Multiplayer Game Template (MMO) is a complete AAA Unity framework featuring realistic sailing, naval combat, treasure hunting, character and ship customization, player-owned islands, and a full MMO backend. Create your own pirate adventure with all the systems you need!

🚢- Sailing, Mast, Steering Wheel & Anchor (Capstan) with Wind System

Players are able to adjust the sail length, rotate the mast, turn the steering wheel, and operate the capstan to raise or lower the anchor. All of these interactions are synced across the network, so every crew member sees the same ship state in real time. The wind direction constantly shifts, and the more accurately the sails are positioned to catch it, the more speed the ship will gain. The anchor is fully functional as well – once lowered, the ship comes to a halt, and by operating the capstan players can raise it again to continue their journey.

🪙- Treasure Maps, Treasure Chests & Shovels

A player who owns a treasure map can search for the treasure chests marked on it. Each map is easy to create in the editor – you just assign a texture of the island or spot, define the chest count, their positions, and the radius where they can be dug up. Players must equip a shovel to dig. If they dig outside the radius, they only create a growing sand pile. But if they dig in the right place, the chest gradually emerges from the ground alongside the sand heap. Once fully uncovered, the chest can be picked up, loaded onto the ship, and defended against other players until it’s safely sold on an outpost island.

⚔️- Ship Battles, Damage, Cannons, Buckets & Planks

Players can man cannons, move them, and fire at enemies. Cannonballs deal real damage: when they hit, they open leaks in the hull exactly where they strike. Water starts pouring in, and if multiple leaks form, the ship fills faster and risks sinking. Crews can work together to keep their vessel afloat – carrying water out with buckets and patching leaks with wooden planks. If too much water accumulates, the ship becomes sluggish and will eventually sink. Sunk ships respawn after a short delay, fully repaired and ready to rejoin the adventure.

🪜- Rescue, Ladders & Doors

If a player falls overboard – or decides to dive into the sea on purpose – they can climb back aboard using ladders or rely on the lifebuoy system, which teleports them back onto their ship if they drift too far away. Ships also have doors that can be opened and closed, letting players enter spaces such as the captain’s cabin.

👥- Crew Management, Authentication & Server Systems

Players can register and log in with their own accounts, ensuring progress and unlocks are tied to them across sessions. Each player can choose whether to be a captain and provide their own ship for a crew, or to join another captain’s crew as a member. The master server handles accounts and crew data, while game servers take care of the world and its ongoing gameplay.

🧑- Character Creation & Customization

After registering, players can create their character. Gender, hairstyles, and other properties can be selected, and cosmetic items such as hats, shirts, pants, and shoes allow for personal expression. New customization items can be added through the editor, and all outfit items can be equipped through the inventory system. Every player can make their pirate unique.

⚒️- Equipment & Weapons

The template includes a wide variety of items across 11 item types:

  • Swords for close combat
  • Firearms for ranged attacks
  • Lanterns to light the way at night
  • Spyglasses to spot ships and islands in the distance
  • Compasses for accurate navigation
  • Buckets to carry water
  • Planks for repairing leaks
  • Consumables to restore health
  • Armors to absorb damage
  • Shovels for digging and unearthing treasure
  • Maps & Treasure Maps to display the world and chest locations

All items can be created easily in the editor and equipped through the Equipment Menu and Radial Inventory Wheel.

⛵- Ship Customization

Players can change sails, hulls, figureheads, steering wheels, capstans, cannons, and even the cannon smoke effects. New customization items are easily created through the editor, making each ship unique on the seas.

🏝- Player Islands & Building System

Every captain receives their own island, which only appears in the world when they create a crew. On this island, players can build freely using the construction system – placing structures, buildings, and furniture to create their personal base. Items cost gold, earned for example by selling treasure chests, so progression feels rewarding. The more captains in a world, the more unique player islands exist to explore.

💬- Emotes & Chat

Communication is vital in multiplayer. Players can use the radial emote wheel to express themselves through gestures, or simply type messages in the chat to coordinate with their crew or taunt rivals on the seas.

🎨- Everything Included

In addition to all features and systems, the template also includes all content shown in the trailer and screenshots — such as ships, male and female characters, animations, and a dynamic sail shader compatible with SRP, URP, and HDRP — plus more.

🌐- Networking
