Swarm Shapeshifter Controller gives you a playable body made of thousands of leaves (or petals, bats, sand, paper, embers, snow or maple leaves) that morphs into anything. Run as a leafy figure, smash the ground as a giant hammer, fire leaves from a cannon, fly as a dragon, then hold a key and build a bridge out of your own body. Every form moves and fights its own way, and the particles flow round everything in their path.

18 forms, 18 ways to play
- Figure: runs, jumps and shoves, with an animated walk and run
- Ball: rolls with momentum, rams and slams down from the air
- Tornado: pulls, whirls and lifts everything nearby
- Saw: rolls on its edge and cuts through crates and robots
- Cloud: floats up and down freely
- Wings: flaps and glides between islands
- Drill: dashes and pierces straight through things
- Fist: punches with a lunge
- Hand: turns on its side, grabs, carries and throws
- Shield: blocks punches and bashes
- Spring: hops and charges a super jump
- Beast: trots, gallops and pounces on four animated legs
- Serpent: slithers and sweeps its tail all round
- Hammer: hops along and smashes the ground
- Cannon: rolls on wheels and fires bursts of its own leaves
- Wheel: drives fast, drifts and boosts
- Dragon: flies on beating wings and breathes a gust of leaves
- Vine Whip: lashes, pulls things in and swings from trees
- Plus Mesh (cover any model) and Character (cover any animated character)
Build with your own body
- Hold a key and part of the swarm leaves you to build: Bridge, Tower, Stairs, Ramp, Wall, Platform and Launch Pad
- Walk on it, climb it, hide behind it; let go and the leaves fly back
- Build Creator: turn any mesh into your own build (arches, domes, rams...) and test it in a live preview
- Rules for builds: launch, fly up, speed boost, push away, hurt robots, follow you, move forward, spin, bouncy, burst when cleared and timer, or write your own in C#
Your own abilities
- Give any form its own abilities: Shoot Leaves, Dash, Shockwave, Super Jump, Spin Attack, Pull In, Blink, Leaf Burst and Hover
- Stack several on one form, tune them with sliders and watch them in the Form Creator's ability test
- Write your own abilities in C#; they appear in the list automatically
Morphing that looks alive
- 10 morph styles: Swirl, Explode, Flow, Ripple, Scatter, Implode, Rain, Vortex, Shatter and Wave
- Particles keep their height between forms, so morphs look tidy
- Scatter dodge: burst apart and reform a few metres on
- Hits knock leaves loose; they fly off and come back
Particles that react
- Up to 65,000 particles on the graphics card, with a CPU fallback for WebGL and older phones
- Pieces that hit a tree, crate or wall slide round it and catch up with the body
- The body squeezes past thin things like tree trunks and poles; walls still block
- Particles land on the ground, rustle in the wind and fall when scattered
9 looks
- Leaf Spirit, Autumn Wraith, Petal Dancer, Bat Swarm, Sand Golem, Paper Storm, Ember Spirit, Snow Sprite and Maple Spirit
- Built-in pictures drawn in code, or your own texture or atlas
- Colours, size, light through the leaves and glow
Your own characters
- Cover any animated character in leaves with the Character form
- Animator Link sends the swarm's speed, jumps and ability presses to your own Animator, so the leaves follow your own walk, run, jump and attack animations
Physics from the form
- Damage and push per form, breakable props, a damage interface for your own objects
- Two robot types to smash, with a spawner
- Follow camera that swings behind the swarm and stays out of walls
Easy to set up
- One Setup Window: create a playable swarm in one click, presets, plain-language sliders
- Tabs for Look & Feel, Forms, Collisions, Building, My Builds and Character
- Validate page with Fix All; My Designs page for your saved forms
Made for programmers too
- Clean, namespaced C# (RageRunGames.SwarmShapeshifter)
- Events for form changes, jumps, landings, abilities and hits
- Scripted input for AI and cut-scenes; morph any form or start a build from code
- Base classes for your own build rules and form abilities
Demo included
- Floating Islands: robots to smash, crates and barrels, high islands to reach, every form
- Playground: a forest to squeeze through, a crate city, a jump park and gaps to bridge
- Demo menu with a live swarm and the look picker
A Quick Start and full Documentation are included.
