Sound design is an important part of creating the six degrees of freedom (6DoF) required for the best immersive experience for your users. The Qualcomm® 3D Audio Plugin is a binaural spatial audio plugin for Unity, ideal for XR(AR/VR) experiences and games.
The 3D Audio Plugin is designed to provide superior sound quality, low motion-to-sound latencies and better performance on Qualcomm Snapdragonâ„¢ powered devices. The Plugin features 64 simultaneous spatialized sound objects, two simultaneous Ambisonic soundfields, and customizable shoebox reverb with low motion-to-sound latency. Qualcomm Technologies' direct rendering method is designed to deliver a lower signal-to-noise ratio and better directionality than other audio spatialization solutions. The Plugin is designed to provide superior performance when Unity apps are run on Snapdragon-powered devices as reverb is offloaded to the DSP freeing up CPU cycles.
Supported platforms include Android and Windows (Windows 7 (32-bit), Windows 7 (64-bit) and Windows 10 (64-bit). The Plugin consumes almost no resources on unsupported platforms when it's disabled.
The Qualcomm 3D Audio Plugin integrates smoothly into any supported Unity project and provides tools to help convert projects not originally designed for 3D or Virtual Reality with minimal effort.
