Stop wrestling with manual version updates, folder naming, and save dialogs. AutoBuild & Version Logger streamlines your entire release pipeline into a single click.
Every time you build, the tool automatically increments your semantic version (Patch, Minor, or Major — you choose), creates a cleanly named output folder like MyGame_v1.2.4_Windows64, runs Unity's build pipeline, writes a formatted Changelog.md next to your executable, and logs the build's metadata (duration, size, version, status) to a per-project history file. When the build finishes, the output folder opens automatically in Explorer or Finder.
By default, Unity's own Build button opens the tool's window instead of the file save dialog — so your whole team uses the same versioning and naming conventions without thinking about it. Prefer Unity's stock flow? A single checkbox restores it.
Perfect for:
- Solo developers tired of typing version numbers and folder names by hand
- Teams that want consistent, traceable release builds
- Anyone shipping frequent builds to testers, publishers, or storefronts
Mobile-ready: Android bundleVersionCode and iOS buildNumber are auto-incremented on each build (as required by Google Play and the App Store), with separate output directories per platform if you want them. If a build fails, the version and build numbers are automatically rolled back — your project settings are never left in a broken state.
Editor-only: the tool adds zero code and zero overhead to your runtime builds. No setup required — import and build.
