Key features
- Day/night cycle: adjustable day length, custom start time, sunrise/sunset/day/night boundaries, custom named event times
- Celestial module: directional light colour/intensity/shadow curves, trilight ambient gradients, sun and moon disc settings, sun visibility (cloud dimming, horizon boost), automatic lens flare fade
- Cloud module: 2D dome clouds, far horizon clouds, GPU-instanced 3D cloud clusters with coverage-driven spread and Solid Core; sky fog and screen-space volumetric fog (height falloff, noise, edge softening, sun window, water level and wave depth prepass)
- Detail module: stars, galaxy cubemap, aurora - all with 24-hour curves
- Weather presets as ScriptableObjects: scheduling, spawned prefabs, module overrides (sky, sun size, clouds, fog values, fog distance, night sky, Volume profile), audio, thunder and custom timed events
- Events module: UnityEvents for second/minute/hour, day/night, sunrise/sunset, custom times and weather start/stop/change
- Quick Start window: verifies URP, Render Graph, depth/opaque textures, colour space, renderer features and scene setup, and fixes them
- Full C# API with a scripting cookbook; every value is exposed in custom inspectors

Easy Weather gives your URP scene a living sky in minutes: a full day/night cycle, layered clouds, volumetric fog and a weather system that runs itself - and every part of it is yours to tune from one place.
Designed to work equally well both stylized, hand-crafted visuals or high-quality realistic environments, Easy Weather gives you the tools to create anything from vibrant, colorful worlds to atmospheric, cinematic scenes.
Drop the prefab into a scene, open the Quick Start window, and it checks and fixes your project setup for you. From there, everything is driven by the clock: the sun and moon rise and set, sky colours follow 24-hour gradients you paint, fog and clouds react to the time of day, and weather presets blend in and out on their own schedule.
Sky and time of day
- Day/night cycle with sunrise, sunset, day and night events and a day counter
- Sun and moon lights that hand over automatically, with colour, intensity, shadow and ambient curves across the day
- Sun disc with horizon boost and cloud dimming, so it burns at noon, glows through the haze at sunset and hides behind a storm
- Stars, a galaxy band and an aurora for the night
- Flexible colour and lighting controls suitable for both stylized art direction and high-fidelity environments
Clouds
- A 2D cloud layer on the sky dome, a distant horizon layer, and generated 3D cloud clusters you can fly through
- Coverage, density, wind and lighting that weather can animate; a Solid Core control for dense cumulus
- Adjustable cloud lighting and density for everything from soft, stylized skies to dramatic, realistic storm formations
Fog
- Screen-space volumetric fog with height falloff, noise, soft silhouettes and a horizon band
- Colour that follows the sun by day and the sky at night, or a gradient you paint
- Water-aware: waves cut the fog correctly, and a low sun still shows through it
- Fine control over fog colour, density and atmosphere for both stylized scenes and cinematic, high-quality visuals
Weather
- Rain, light rain, snow and thunderstorms included as presets; make your own as assets
- Automatic daily scheduling with probabilities, time windows and durations - or start any weather from a single line of code
- Presets override sky colours, clouds, fog, fog distance, stars and a post-processing Volume profile, all cross-faded over the transition
- Weather audio (rain, wind, thunder) plus a clear-weather ambience that crossfades day and night
- UnityEvents for every time and weather change - wire street lights, shops or cutscenes without code
Also included
- Depth-based lens flare occlusion that works with foliage and fades with the sun
- A demo scene with an ocean shader, first-person and free camera, and a test HUD for every feature
- Custom inspectors for every module, a scripting cookbook and a full PDF manual
Built for Unity 6 and URP 17 with Render Graph. PC and console; mobile is not supported in this version.
Whether you're building a stylized fantasy world, a colorful low-poly environment, or a high-quality cinematic scene, Easy Weather is designed to give you full artistic control over the atmosphere while keeping the setup simple.
