Most of the cameras on the phone have an LED flash that can be used as a flashlight. This tool will allow you to turn on the flashlight on a variety of android versions. To do this, the code uses different approaches depending on the API level of the phone.
📌 The flashlight is switched on and off in one line of code.
📌 If you want to use this tool together with the Vuforia Engine, then the asset contains instructions with a couple of simple steps on how to do it.
📌 Permission to use the camera to operate the flashlight is granted directly from the application, if necessary.
The flashlight has been tested on these Android versions:
- 4.4.2 (ZTE Blade L370);
- 9 (HUAWEI P smart);
- 11 (Galaxy A52, HUAWEI nova 9, Xiaomi POCO M3);
- 12 (POCO X3 Pro).
The demo scene uses a toggle switch that is pleasant to use, as well as a button that allows you to change the flicker frequency.
