Particle LOD Generator is a Unity Editor tool for analyzing built-in Particle Systems and creating scalable quality variants.
Select a prefab or scene object to inspect its emitters, modules, renderer settings, estimated active particles, warnings, and heuristic complexity score. Review all proposed changes before generating optimized prefabs.
The included HIGH, MEDIUM, and LOW presets adjust emission, particle capacity, bursts, Trails, Noise, Collision, and Lights. Individual emitters can be excluded from optimization, and custom presets can be created for project-specific requirements.
Generate separate quality prefabs or create an Adaptive Prefab that automatically selects a variant based on the active Unity Quality Settings level. Batch processing is available for projects containing multiple particle prefabs.
Particle LOD Generator uses a non-destructive workflow. Source objects are never modified, and generated prefabs retain the source materials, shaders, transforms, colors, shapes, start speed, and start size.
The tool is suitable for mobile projects, scalable graphics settings, prototyping, and reviewing complex particle effects. Warnings and complexity scores are heuristic and do not replace profiling on target hardware.
