SceneXRay is an editor-only dependency visualization and debugging tool for Unity.
It scans your scenes and prefabs and turns serialized references, persistent UnityEvent targets, project assets, missing references, and optional code-level lookups into an interactive graph.
Instead of manually digging through the Hierarchy and Inspector, you can quickly see what an object depends on, what references it, where a broken link comes from, and how objects and assets are connected across a scene.
The graph supports focused navigation with incoming and outgoing dependency directions, configurable radius, browser-style Back / Forward history, multiple layout modes, saved per-scene arrangements, Undo / Redo, filtering, search, and a MiniMap.
SceneXRay also includes tools for common debugging and maintenance tasks:
• Find and inspect missing serialized references
• Best-effort missing-reference repair with Undo support
• Detect dependency cycles and highly connected objects
• View References and Referenced By directly in the Inspector
• Search references across loaded scenes and project assets
• Compare dependency links between two scenes
• Visualize dependencies directly in the Scene View
• Bookmark frequently inspected objects
• Export dependency data for documentation or external tools
• Validate scene quality from CI or Unity batchmode
SceneXRay is suitable for projects of any genre because it works with Unity scene structure rather than gameplay-specific systems. It is especially useful for larger scenes, inherited projects, debugging broken references, refactoring tightly coupled systems, and understanding unfamiliar project architecture.
The tool is editor-only and does not add runtime components or code to player builds. It does not require third-party packages, external services, accounts, API keys, or a network connection.
Supports Built-in Render Pipeline, URP, and HDRP.
Unity 6000.0 LTS or newer is required.
