Snow Melt System is a customizable, real-time snow deformation solution for Unity’s Universal Render Pipeline (URP).
Instead of drawing with the mouse, a moving character or any other Transform automatically melts the snow as it travels across the surface. The system writes persistent trails into a Render Texture, while the included shader lowers the snow surface, creates a wet transition edge, and reveals the ground underneath.
Brush radius, hardness, trail spacing, mask resolution, snow appearance, ground appearance, and displacement strength can be customized.
Snow Melt System can be used for:
• Character and creature trails
• Rolling balls and vehicle wheels
• Projectiles and heat sources
• Winter, survival, racing, sandbox, and adventure games
• Scripted explosions or environmental effects
The included demo scene features a controllable sphere that melts the snow while moving. Use WASD or the arrow keys to move and press R to restore the snow.
The public API allows developers to create melt stamps, reset the surface, connect multiple emitters to one surface, and give separate surfaces independent runtime masks.
The package includes original procedural textures, a tessellated demonstration mesh, ready-to-use materials, shaders, prefabs, documentation, and a complete URP demo scene.
